We simply must let you know that earth’s favourite soft-hedonists Grimes & Jones (artists) will soon be presenting a new exhibition of portraits:

Miniature Heroes

Grimes & Jones, like many other poster-ladened bedroom fanatics, are obsessed with celebrity culture. We find a disposable hero, through magazine columns and youtube snippets, and we begin digesting them (Wikipedia) – then we decide wether to celebrate or exorcise these (un)fortunate flash-in-the-pans.

Miniature Heroes is a cross examination of British media focus and popular culture obsession in the first 12 years of the 'new' millennium, a carefully selected list of significant British cultural contributors.

As self proclaimed 'Men of the moment' we have sculpted multi-sensory portraits to our 12 heroes and present an installation; inviting the viewer into a (grotesque) 'Hall of Fame' in which to worship them.

Using relevant tools and materials (e.g. Jack Duckworth – betting slips, ale, brown sauce, bird shit) we have rendered a chaotic window into the lifestyle and habits of the artist(s) (Paint-superior), married hopelessly with the bizarre and ridiculous world of celebrity stereotypes.

The private view is on Wednesday 12^th December (12/12/12) and the exhibition runs until Sunday 6^th January.

We would be moved if you could attend, or at least offer us your deepest condolences.

Memorable greetings and ay ups,

Here is a pot-bellied roar concerning the latest cultural girths from celebrity fox-hunters Grimes & Jones. These labours include new episodes of the Blue Angel, (the agony aunt all the accidentally pregnants are talking about) and some special short abusotainments entitled ‘Blue Views,’ where the holy one will give his opinions on a variety of important topics.

 Fans and those who have become emotionally dependent on the Blue Angel should also sign up to his Facebook page and Twitter accounts so they can benefit from his daily advice, an example of which follows: ‘Reading newspapers is for puffs’.

Meanwhile in the land of crusty paint Grimes & Jones continue to represent icons and spastics. Look out for our upcoming portrait of psycho killer Raoul Moat, which promises to be an insightful and thoroughly awful experience.

Golden Tits & Jack Fuckworth

Through thick brown mud and big boned food we have continued to exist in art, here is a sensibly proportioned round-up of our most recent movements:

Firstly we created a new Paint Superior ‘The Man with the Golden Tits,’ for Kate Wiggs at her Dada night in London, below is a scientific diagram of how the painting may have looked.

In addition to putting golden tits in the capital’s face we participated in the 3^rd annual Bad Art Salon, this time at Wilderness Festival.

WE WON.

Our entry was ‘Jack Fuckworth,’ a knob-out tribute to one of soap’s greatest heroes and an icon of life in the North of England.

Grimes & Jones: live in London next Monday

‘The Man with the Golden Tits’ is an Olympic-fired dream of physical fitness, sexual power and ultimate henchness. 

A new paintsuperior by Grimes & Jones, this glittering canvas will be painted in London; the home of the 2012 Olympics in a protein fuelled sprint to glory.

Retro video games - a tipping point in society?

What is your view on people who play retro video games? Do you think they are fat nerds with cheese-crisp breath? Or are you a slick hipster yourself? With a degree you’ve never used, a fit tween girlfriend and a cabinet full of vintage goodness?

Whatever side of the argument you take, there is a market for these things, but there also seems to be a slightly worrying trend of emotional problems, indecision and helplessness connected to the world of old video games.

Take these recent examples where the Blue Angel has sorted out problems for two men in their early twenties who both seemed to be on the verge of psychological problems until our painted prince stepped in.

The conclusion is obvious, have fun playing games, but if you find yourself sweating, jumping up and down and questioning your very existence, fucking stop it. Go outside.

Trophy - come to Leeds and be amazed

Your favourite art superiors (Grimes & Jones) will be appearing in a new group show from today until Saturday 30^thJune.

The show is called Trophy and is curated by none other than Alice Bradshaw for East Street Arts, so do be proper.

Our work will tell a tragic story of gin consumption, portraiture and dealing with criticism.
